Ultimate Guide to Westminster Abbey
Westminster Abbey is one of the most important ecclesiastical sites in the country, playing a central role in the succession of the British Monarchy for centuries. We’ve put together the ultimate guide to Westminster Abbey to help with your trip!
One of the most significant landmarks in the whole country, Westminster Abbey has hosted every coronation since 1066. It has also hosted 16 Royal Weddings and 17 British monarchs are buried there. Construction of the present church began in 1245, by King Henry 3rd. The interior is so spectacular that we recommend that you take 1-2 hours to fully enjoy Westminster Abbey.
